How about those beaches???

There is discussion about the lack of exposure to waves, and the effect that this could have on the new beaches that have been constructed with large breakwaters to prevent their erosion. Studies suggest that the lack of wave action on the beaches will cause the buildup of a soft layer of muddy sediment on the beaches, which needless to say would be soft and not very nice to walk on, unless you enjoy walking in mud at the beach.

Writing in Terra et Aqua, a magazine of the International Association of Dredging Companies, coastal experts Karsten Mangor, Ida Broker and Dan Borgen Haslov say large breakwaters put in place to prevent waves from lashing coastlines are keeping out natural wave movement needed to maintain the health of beaches.

There are lots of people who say this is not true, officials at Nakheel for one, and all also agree that if there is any real problem there has to be an engineering solution.
