The prices of plastic bags have increased by 200% in the last 1 1/2 years, so many supermarkets are looking for ways to reduce their costs and the use of the plastic bag. Some Dubai markets are prepared to reduce prices for costumers if they start using their own cloth bags. Several supermarket chains said they are planning awareness campaigns against plastic bags.
